World Book Day at Liberty went down a storm, learners and staff dressing as their favourite characters and having lots of chats about their most popular books all day long.
Some made their own costumes from decorating t-shirts with words from different languages to crocheting their very own superhero costume, very creative!
Paul Bunyan, Deadpool, King Arthur, Mad Hatter, Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley were among our costumes with many other characters involved aswell!
Remember the Liberty Library is available for students that would like to borrow books to read, just come choose a book with your tutor and they will sort out the rest.

February 1st was Chinese New Year.
At Liberty as part of Motiv8 2, learners had to complete a candidate project. Black Owl’s group decided to plan, manage, complete and review a party for the Chinese New Year to celebrate Chinese culture.
The learners researched about Chinese New Year to get some ideas, how Chinese New Year is celebrated, what their zodiac animal is and the story behind the chosen zodiac animals.
The learners had to choose food that they would cook and created a menu for the college. They researched what ingredients they would need and went out to buy all the ingredients.
They had to go into a few different places to ensure they got everything that was on the list.
They also chose to make decorations and then decided together where and how they would decorate.
The learners made things like paper lanterns, hanging decorations, bunting and wall signs with Chinese writing.
The group cooked everything on this menu and even served the food to everyone who ate there.
Everyone loved the creations made and all agreed it was a great idea and was a great success.

Last Friday was our charity Christmas Jumper day in order to raise money for Save the Children.
There was Christmas dinner, decorations and lots of fun on offer throughout the day for everyone here at Liberty Training.
A Christmas sweepstake to guess the children's favourite song during the festive period was completed, and the winner being...... our very own tutor, Lauren!
Well done Lauren, and thank you for everyone that took part in the day.
The day was a great success, lots of our staff and learners dressed up for the occasion with a grand total of £56.81 raised for the charity, enough to feed a family in Yemen for a whole month!
Check out our photos of some of the staff and learners that got involved during the day!
