Level 2

Our Level 2 courses are a progression in level for students who have chosen to remain at Liberty for a second year and continue to develop and gain further qualifications. You will continue to get all the extra support you need at Liberty and on your work experience placement.

The level 2 endorsed pathways are also 38 weeks and aims to develop your leadership, life, and independence skills. Team activities are are again incorporated into the programme as well as functional skills. The programme runs for 2 and a half days per week.

You can choose an endorsed pathway at level 2 in one of the following areas:

• Arts and Crafts
• Childcare
• Construction
• Hair and Beauty
• Health and Social Care
• Horticulture
• Hospitality and Catering
• IT
• Life Skills
• Performing Arts
• Sports and Fitness & DofE
• Travel and Tourism
   

You will also benefit from a further 100+ hours of work experience in your chosen area.

The qualifications that that you can achieve in Year 2 are:

• Level 2 Award in Skills for Further Learning and Employment, endorsed in the subject you have chosen
• Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Learning and Employment, endorsed in the subject you have chosen
• Level 2 Extended Certificate in Skills for Further Learning and Employment, endorsed in the subject you have chosen
• Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Further Learning and Employment, endorsed in the subject you have chosen
• Level 2 Health & Safety at Work
• Maths and English functional skills (we will look at what grades you already have and what level you are working at to help us put you on the right level for you)

You will also have the opportunity to achieve extra qualifications relating to the type of job you would like to do with the support our staff team. For example, if you want to work in health and social care, you can do qualifications in safeguarding and infection control, or if you want to work with food, you can get a food hygiene certificate- and we will cover all the costs!

You can try a range of new activities and experiences whilst on the level 2 while revisiting a few of your favourites from level 1.

You will also have the opportunity to attend a 3-night residential stay at Disneyland Paris. This is a great opportunity if you have never left the UK and will give you a chance to develop your independence skills. We can help apply for and fund passports if you do not have one.

At the end of the programme a graduation ceremony is held for you and your family or friends to attend. You will also get to go on more activities, including a final big day out with your group.
